Preview: Scunthorpe United v Moors

We turn the attention to Saturday afternoon’s action with a full and in-depth preview of our National League North trip to The Attis Arena.

Scunthorpe United v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 12th April 2025, 3pm
The Attis Arena

The Opposition
Scunthorpe United find themselves sitting top of the table and in pole position for automatic promotion with just four games of the season remaining.

The Iron have roared to the top on the back of some consistent form over the course of the campaign and stayed at the summit despite last weekend’s surprise defeat at Radcliffe.

Kidderminster Harriers and Brackley Town are breathing down their necks and are lying in wait for any kind of further slip-up during a title race which looks set to go right to the wire.

Andy Butler’s side have tasted league defeat just once on home soil throughout 2024/25 and that was all the way back in November at the hands of Buxton.

Previous Meeting
Moors came from a goal down to win 3-2 when the two sides collided in an epic encounter at The Brewery Field back in November.

Ross Barrows put The Iron in front before Matty Dolan and Isaac Fletcher answered back to put Moors in the driving seat only for Scunthorpe to equaliser on 81 minutes.

However, Graeme Lee’s men had the final say when Rob Ramshaw fired home three minutes later to secure an impressive three points.

Referee
Liam Corbett will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s contest at The Attis Arena, and he will be assisted by Martin Chester and Bradley Maw. Tim Eagles is Fourth Official.
