We put our selection of questions to young defender Ben Beals to find out a little bit more about his favourite things in life…

Favourite crisps?
I do eat a few crisps, I can’t lie. My favourite flavour is probably Prawn Cocktail, though I do like the Flamin’ Hot Jalapeno and Cheese ones, they’re not bad.

Favourite drink?
I don’t drink so it won’t be no alcoholic ones in there. I would say Fanta, I like the Fruit Twist version, that’s the one!

Favourite sandwich?
I love a good sarnie, like! Maybe something like a BLT? I will go with that but it’s a tough question!

Favourite pizza?
I only have pizza now and again and I would probably just go for something standard like a pepperoni. Hungry Jacks in Ingleby Barwick do an unreal burger pizza actually – that’s quality.

Favourite footballer?
Just because of how he is, I would say Ronaldo. In my position, it’s probably Puyol at the minute but I loved watching Vidic. Van Dijk is brilliant too if you want a current player.

Favourite match?
When I was a young lad at Boro, I was flag bearer for a match in the Premier League, and I loved that. I played against Manchester City Under-18s, and we drew 1-1 but that was a really good end to end game so that is one which sticks in my head that I played in.

Favourite song?
I do like a bit of Drake so I will go for Drake and Rihanna with ‘Take Care’.

Favourite band?
When I was younger, I was really into JLS. They were the ones back in the day. I still quite like Take That too.

Favourite stadium?
I would love to go and play at the Bernabeu in the future, how good would that be? It would be unbelievable to play there. I went on a stadium tour there and it’s so nice. I have played at the Riverside and that’s good too though. I would also love to play at Old Trafford.

Favourite film?
It’s a tough one. When I sit down and watch a film, I really enjoy it, it’s just a case of finding the time to get round to it. If I had to pick a favourite, I would go for Wolf Of Wall Street.

Favourite TV series?
Probably Suits. Have you watched that? It’s class.

Favourite teammate?
Oh, haha! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good group that we have here – but my favourite was probably Isaac Fletcher. I have known him before I came here so it would be either him or maybe Dan Myers and Dan Rowe who I played with before too.
