We continue our summer study of the clubs joining us in the National League North for the 2025/26 season, and today we’re casting our eye over The Tigers.
How did they get here?
Worksop Town booked their place in National League North after an impressive play-off campaign, beating Ashton United 2-1 in the semi-final, before overcoming Guiseley by the same scoreline in the Final.
The Tigers finished their league campaign in second spot behind winners Macclesfield, amassing 83 points and scoring 96 goals along the way.
Where do they play?
Sandy Lane Stadium has been the home to Worksop Town since 1992, although the club was forced to play elsewhere between 2005 and 2011 having lost ownership of the ground.
Their stadium finalised construction in 1992, holding around 2,000 spectators at full capacity.
The Tigers averaged just over 750 fans per game last term, although their Play-Off Final at Sandy Lane attracted over 2,000 through the turnstiles as they clinched promotion.
Who is in charge?
Craig Parry is the man in the hot seat at Sandy Lane, having been appointed in April of 2020, though he only took charge of 13 games in first full season due to the pandemic.
Parry, along with his assistant, Craig Rouse, joined The Tigers after a stellar managerial stint with Pontefract Collieries, during which he oversaw back-to-back promotions, coming close to a third which would’ve seen them rise to the NPL Premier Division.
Under Parry, Worksop have enjoyed similar success, gaining promotion from the Northern Premier League East Division as champions in 2022/23, before securing a place in National League North for the 2025/26 campaign.
When did we last meet?
2025/26 will be the first season that Moors and Worksop Town meet competitively.
