Austin Samuels Joins Spennymoor Town

Graeme Lee has further strengthened his squad after completing the signing of front man Austin Samuels on a short-term deal.

The former England Youth international came through the ranks at Wolves where his pace and eye for goal earned him a place in the First Team squad when he was just 16.

He gained further senior experience during loan stays at Kidderminster Harriers, Bradford City and Aberdeen before making a permanent switch to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2022.

After a short spell with Greenock Morton, Samuels returned to England to join Rushall Olympic during the latter part of last season, scoring against Alfreton Town, Brackley Town and Darlington.

“Austin will give us a different type of threat in attack,” explained Moors boss Lee.

“He’s a player who has a good work ethic and he’s scored goals wherever he’s been, so we’re pleased to bring him into the squad.

“We’re happy with the business we’ve done during the summer, but this gives us a different option going forward.”

Samuels, who has signed a deal which runs until the end of December, will wear squad number 15 and goes straight into contention for Tuesday evening’s fixture against King’s Lynn Town.
