Moors’ youngsters will take their first steps in this season’s FA Youth Cup on Friday evening when they make the trip to face Workington (7.30pm kick-off).

Mark McGinley will lead the team as they look to build some memories in a competition which holds plenty of prestige for young players up and down the country.

The First Round Qualifying tie will take place at Workington’s Borough Park on Friday evening and the excitement is already building in the Moors camp.

“We’re wishing the lads every success in their FA Youth Cup journey this season,” said Moors boss Graeme Lee.

“It’s a competition which is highly regarded and it’s really exciting for these young players to get a chance to play in it, so we’re hoping they can do really well.

“I know first hand from playing and coaching in the FA Youth Cup how much it means, and I am sending my very best wishes to Mark and the team ahead of Friday.”
