Moors Ladies Set To Host League Leaders

Moors Ladies will aim to maintain their strong start to the new campaign when they play host to Thornaby at The Brewery Field on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

Nikita Hemmingway was confirmed as the new manager of our Ladies Team on a permanent basis during the week following an encouraging first few weeks in charge.

Moors have made a positive start to their NERWFL Premier Division campaign and Hemmingway also steered the Club into the Third Qualifying Round of the Women’s FA Cup after a brilliant win at Birtley Town on Sunday.

However, their form will be given its sternest test this weekend when they welcome a Thornaby side who sit top of the table with seven points from three games so far.

“This will be a big test for us, there’s no doubt about it,” said Hemmingway.

“We’ve had some good tussles with Thornaby in the past and I can see this Sunday’s game being just as competitive, so we’ll have to be at our best again.

“The girls are playing with really high confidence at the moment though, and I know they fancy their chances against anyone – particularly when we’re playing at The Brewery Field.”

If you can make it, come along and support the lasses on Sunday – admission is just £3 for adults and completely free for fans under 12.

Fans can pay cash or card on the turnstiles or buy in advance online by clicking here.
