We turn the spotlight on Saturday’s National League North action as Moors play host to Southport at The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Southport
National League North
Saturday 4th October 2025, 3pm
The Brewery Field
The Opposition
Southport arrive at The Brewery Field this weekend sitting second bottom in the National League North table but buoyed by recent good results in the FA Cup.
Neil Danns was appointed as the club’s new manager during the summer following the departure of Jim Bentley in the latter part of last term.
Southport have had a frustrating first couple of months and have tasted victory in the league just once, when Bedford Town were swept aside at Haig Avenue in their first home game of 2025/26.
However, recent triumphs over Radcliffe and Morpeth Town in the FA Cup may well have given Danns’ men the confidence boost they need and they will be looking to show that against Moors on Saturday.
Previous Meeting
Moors ran out 4-1 winners when the sides last met back in January at Haig Avenue when goals from Glen Taylor, Matty Dolan, Junior Mondal and Aidan Rutledge did the damage.
Referee
Liam Smith will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s action at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Simon Clayton and Harvey Websdale. Thomas James is our Fourth Official.
Tickets
The game is not segregated, and both home and away supporters are able to buy their tickets online in advance or by cash and card on the turnstiles from 12.30pm.
