Moors have completed a deal to sign highly rated midfielder Ethan Robson on loan from Carlisle United for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
A graduate of Sunderland’s famed Academy, Robson was on the books at the Stadium of Light from the age of just 8 and he went on to sign professional terms in 2014.
After being a regular for The Black Cats’ development squad and Under-23s, Robson made several appearances in the EFL Trophy and EFL Cup before making his Championship debut against Cardiff City in 2017.
He gained further senior experience through loan spells at Dundee and Grimsby Town before making a permanent switch to Blackpool in 2020 where he spent two years.
A loan move to MK Dons was turned permanent in the summer of 2022 and he went on to make 60 appearances during two seasons at Stadium MK.
It was in the summer of 2024 that Robson arrived at Carlisle United, while the 28-year-old spent time on loan back in the North East with Gateshead last season.
“We’re absolutely delighted to get a deal done to bring Ethan to the Club,” said Moors boss Graeme Lee.
“When you have the opportunity to sign a player of Ethan’s ability, you have to take it and there’s no doubt that he will really strengthen our midfield options.
“He has good experience at a higher level and he’s a local lad too so it’s a good fit for us and he’s a player we’re excited to be working with for the rest of the season.”
Robson has been handed squad number 20 and he is now eligible to make his Moors debut in Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Billericay Town at The Brewery Field.
