Moors fell to a heavy defeat at The Brewery Field as dominant AFC Fylde hit Graeme Lee’s men for five.

The visitors scored four goals in the first half alone, with Luca Thomas, Ryan Colclough and a 2-minute brace from Danny Ormerod giving the Coasters a commanding lead at the break.

Fylde opened the scoring through Thomas, as the number seven drove into the area before smashing an effort low past Bobby Jones at his near post.

Ryan Colclough added a second for The Coasters soon after, as he struck a sweet, curled effort into the far-left corner of the net.

Moors were almost gifted a goal on the half hour mark as Matty Dolan intercepted a loose ball from Zac Jones, before taking a touch and firing on goal, only to see his effort from distance hit the post.

The visitors found a third with 35 minutes on the clock, as Danny Ormerod got in on the action. Thomas’ initial shot was deflected into the path of Ormerod, who made no mistake and hit a powerful shot past Jones.

It took Ormerod just a minute to get his second of the game, as he met with a good cross into the area, before producing a downward header beneath Jones and into the net.

Thomas almost got his second just 3 minutes into the second half, when he met with a deep cross at the far post. However, his header was well saved by Jones.

Colclough secured his brace on the hour mark, as he got into a good position on the right of the penalty area, before sweeping a shot into the far bottom corner.

Moors looked to have gotten one back with 8 minutes left to play as Cam Salkeld found the net with a good finish into the opposite corner of the net, only for the referee to rule it out.

A rough evening at The Brewery Filed for Moors, as Fylde run away with the 3 points. Focus now shifts to Saturday’s trip to Kidderminster Harriers as we look to get back to winning ways.
