Jackson Nominated For Community Award

We’re sending congratulations to Moors in the Community disability coach Lily Jackson after she was shortlisted for an award for her work.

Jackson has made a significant contribution to our various coaching programmes across the town, specialising in our popular Disability Football provision.

As a result of her commitment and effort, we’ve now had it confirmed that she has been shortlisted for the prestigious Heart of the Community prize at the upcoming Little SENDsations Awards.

“Lily’s nomination speaks so highly of the kindness, leadership and support you show in your community,” wrote event organisers when revealing the news.

“From coaching disability football with Spennymoor Town to supporting people of all ages through your work with Thrive (Durham County Council, all while being an incredible sister to Blake.

“You truly are a shining example of what it means to make a difference.”

The SENDsational Gala: A Night Of Stars is hosted by Little SENDsations and is an evening of celebration for the local Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) community.

The gala will be at Redworth Hall Hotel on Saturday 7th March and this year will launch the first-ever awards to honour “everyday heroes” such as parent carers, professionals, volunteers and community champions who go the extra mile for children and families with SEND.

“We’re extremely proud of the work we deliver across our community and Lily plays a huge part in that,” said Moors’ Managing Director, Ian Geldard.

“This nomination is richly deserved for the hours of hard work she puts in to ensure our Disability Football sessions are among the best in our area.

“We’re wishing Lily well for the night and we’re crossing our fingers that she lands the award!”
