Club Pays Tribute To Barrie Hindmarch

Everyone at Spennymoor Town is extremely saddened to hear news of the passing of former Chairman, Barrie Hindmarch.

Barrie was a true stalwart of the Football Club, serving on the committee for 33 years and spending two decades as Chairman.

Alongside his late wife, Joyce – who also worked behind the scenes at The Brewery Field – Barrie dedicated more than half of his working life to the Club.

“When I first came to Spennymoor at 18, Barrie looked after me from day one,” said Moors’ Head of Football, Jason Ainsley.

“Barrie was the one who gave me my first ever contract with the Club and that is something I will be eternally grateful for.

“He believed in me at an important stage of my career, and that support meant more than he probably ever knew.

“Barrie was a true gentleman who cared deeply about the Club and people within it.

“My thoughts are with his family and friends, along with everyone connected with the Football Club at this very difficult time.”
