Moors Ladies Beaten By League Leaders

Moors Ladies fell to a narrow defeat at the hands of Bradford City at Whitworth Park Academy on Sunday afternoon.

Nikita Hemmingway’s side were more than a match for the league leaders throughout a hard-fought contest which was settled by a single goal just after the hour.

The encounter began at a high tempo, and both sides created half chances during the early stages and played some good football at times.

The decisive moment arrived on 62 minutes when The Bantams broke the deadlock to get their noses in front and give them something to hang on to.

Moors responded positively and looked to take the game back to their visitors but they couldn’t find a leveller and City continued their 100% record to remain top of the NERWFL Premier Division table.

“We battled hard and on another day we could have had at least a point,” said Hemmingway afterwards.

“It was good to get back out there and play for the first time in 2026, and there were plenty of positives for us to build on for the rest of the season.

“We won’t come up against many teams as strong as Bradford so the fact we put in such an encouraging performance should give us confidence for the games to come.”
