Preview: Moors v Chester

We turn the spotlight on Tuesday night’s National League North action as Moors play host to Chester at The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Chester
National League North
Tuesday 20th January 2026, 7.45pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Chester moved above Moors in the National League North table on goal difference at the weekend thanks to their 3-3 draw with Chorley.

However, Calum McIntyre’s men may feel sore not to have taken all three points having been in front three times before conceding a last-minute equaliser.

Chester have lost four of their last six games and have only one victory to their name in that time – a 2-0 triumph over Macclesfield in the final outing of 2025.

Now The Seals must tackle a tricky looking run of three consecutive away assignments, with trips to Peterborough Sports and Marine to follow their visit to The Brewery Field.

Previous Meetings
Chester took all three points when the sides last met back in January when Dan Mooney’s goal late on was enough to take victory for The Seals.

It was some revenge for Calum McIntyre’s side who were soundly beaten 3-0 on their last trip to The Brewery Field on the opening day of last term, thanks to a double from Isaac Fletcher and one from Matty Dolan.

The Seals were 2-0 up against Moors when they travelled to The Brewery Field back in November before a torrential downpour saw the game abandoned.

Alex Beckett will be the man in charge for Tuesday night’s encounter at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Stephen Birkett and Elliot Cowens. Glen Hart is our Fourth Official.
