An impressive second half performance saw Moors come from behind in emphatic fashion against Kidderminster Harriers to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
Harriers took the lead just after the half-hour mark through a tidy finish into the bottom right corner from Seb Thompson, only for three goals in ten second half minutes to flip the game on its head.
Corey McKeown equalised with a brilliant finish into the bottom left corner, before Olly Dyson’s looping effort put Moors in front. Glen Taylor rounded off the flurry when he thumped a spot-kick into the top left corner on 66 minutes.
Both sides saw some early half chances go begging; first for Kidderminster as Charlie Cooper failed to hit the target from distance, before Mackenzie Heaney’s looped free-kick was claimed by Rhys Lovett.
Ryley Reynolds saw a powerful effort deflected over the bar by Dan Jones, only for Heaney’s strike at the other end to skim the crossbar three minutes later.
Brad James was called into action when he got in the way of Kieren Donnelly’s low strike from close range, as the ball deflected behind for a corner. The resultant set-piece was whipped into the area and found Owen Evans whose header went well wide of the mark.
Moors went close to breaking the deadlock on the 25th minute through Taylor. Great work from the brilliant Dyson saw him evade multiple challenges before breaking through to the edge of the penalty area. He laid the ball off to Taylor, who struck a venomous effort just over the bar.
It was the visitors who opened the deadlock, however, as Seb Thompson found the net just after the half-hour. The ball broke for the Harriers man in the area, where he took a touch and cooly tucked home into the bottom right corner from close range.
Lovett had to be alert to deny Cam Salkeld’s curling effort from the edge of the area, as he was forced into a good save to tip the strike over the crossbar at stretch.
Reynolds looked to add a second in first half stoppage time as he broke free of a defender and prodded an effort on goal from close range, only for James to make the save down to his left
Moors started the second half the better, and Salkeld’s strike from inside the area had to be deflected behind for a corner by a Kidderminster man.
It took just 11 second half minutes for Moors to find the equaliser, as Corey McKeown hit the net. A quick throw-in fell to the winger, who carried it to the edge of the penalty area from the right-hand side, before finding the bottom left corner with a composed finish
Moors turned the game on its head on the hour mark, when Dyson put his side ahead. Great work from Salkeld on the right saw him break into the penalty area, before finding Dyson on the edge of the area with a low ball. The number two stuck an effort first time, which looped into the left-hand side of the net past Lovett.
An awkward cross from the left almost caught out Lovett, who had to react quickly to tip the ball over the bar as Moors continued to press. From the resultant corner, Taylor was fouled in the area by Festus Arthur in an off the ball incident and Moors were awarded a penalty, and an opportunity to add a third to the evening’s tally with 66 minutes on the clock.
Taylor stepped up and rifled his penalty into the top left corner of the net to give Tommy Miller and Matty Dolan’s side breathing space going into the final 20 minutes of the game.
Dyson could have had a second with 12 minutes remaining, when he burst into the area from the right. However, his effort with the outside of his right boot was well saved by Lovett, who got down to his left to parry the ball behind.
Moors had half chances as the game began to wind down, but neither Rob Ramshaw nor Kian Foreman’s attempts to get a ball across the face of goal produced anything.
Adam Murray’s side did look to have brought one back deep into stoppage time, when Emeka Obi bundled the ball home beneath James, only for the linesman’s flag to be raised to signal offside.
