Record Turnout For Fundraising Town Quiz

There was a packed house in the Sports Bar on Tuesday evening as over 80 people took part in the annual Town Quiz, raising over £1,000 for Moors in the Community.

Moors’ Managing Director, Ian Geldard took on hosting duties for the 13th year in a row, with the hugely popular event being held at The Brewery Field for the first time.

A record attendance meant some 21 teams did battle – and they had their knowledge and brain power tested to the limit across various rounds and subjects over the course of two enthralling hours.

Ticket sales and a raffle helped the Club raise a superb total of £1,074, which will all go directly towards supporting the invaluable projects carried out by Moors in the Community across the town and local area.

“It was an incredible turnout and we’re so thankful to everyone who came along,” said Geldard.

“Moors in the Community does so much good across our area, but we couldn’t continue to enhance those multiple projects without fundraising nights like these.

“We’re proud of the huge impact we have across our community, with our various programmes providing crucial services for people of all ages.”

In a tense finish, Uncredibles amassed an astonishing 71 points to take the crown, holding off strong competition from Bob’s Gang, who won a tie-break to take second place ahead of Buckled by Buzzballs after both teams had scored an impressive 70.

Sadly, not all teams prospered. Saints finished bottom of the pile so took home a toilet roll each as a prize, while Straw In Kelly’s Eye were rewarded with a wooden spoon each after finishing second-last!
