We continue our summer review of the new teams joining us in National League North for 2026/27 and today it’s Harborough Town’s turn.
How did they get here?
Harborough Town confirmed their promotion to National League North following an impressive 3-1 away win at Halesowen Town. Goals from Connor Kennedy, Riley O’Sullivan and Ryan McClean secured the win and clinched the Southern League Premier Central title.
Promotion sees The Bees reach the sixth tier of English football for the first time in their history, as they bounced back from play-off heartbreak last term to get the job done in the regular season this time around.
They picked up a staggering 95 points from their 42 games, holding off championship rivals, Spalding United. With just three defeats across the entire league season, it’s not hard to see why they found themselves top of the tree come May.
Where do they play?
Harborough play their football at Bowden Park, also known as The Beehive, situated on Northampton Road.
The stadium has a capacity of 2,400.
Who is in charge?
Mitch Austin was rewarded for guiding Harborough Town to their historic promotion last season with a new three-year deal in May to stay as the club’s Manager.
It’s been an incredible five years so far under Austin’s watch as he guided The Bees to three promotions, including an astonishing treble in 2021/22 when they won the UCL Premier Division South title as well as the League Cup and regional Hinchinbrooke Cup.
As a player, Austin had spells in the colours of Stalybridge Celtic and Cambridge United before moving to Austalia where he turned out for Central Coast Mariners, Melbournve Victory, Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC.
When did we last meet?
This season will see a first competitive meeting between Moors and The Bees.
