Report: Seaton Carew 0 Moors 4

Moors made it two wins from two in pre-season with a comfortable victory over Seaton Carew at Hornby Park on Tuesday evening.

A dry pitch made football tricky, but both sides carved out early opportunities, with Moors’ trialist keeper making a good save down low to his right before another trialist headed just over from a corner at the other end.

Glen Taylor almost grabbed his second goal of the warm-up campaign when he drove inside from the right before firing a powerful left-footed shot on goal which stung the palms of the home keeper.

The deadlock was broken on 18 minutes when the ball was set back to Rob Ramshaw on the edge of the box and the midfielder’s first-time shot took a deflection before finding the net for 1-0.

Danny Johnson was agonisingly close to doubling the lead early in the second half when Moors took advantage of some sloppy defending by the hosts, but the summer signing crashed his effort from the edge of the box off the bar and Seaton survived.

It was 2-0 to Moors just after the hour though, as this time a trialist let fly from fully 25 yards with an unstoppable shot which found the net via the inside of the post.

Dan Jones nodded in a third goal on 74 minutes to make sure of the win before Junior Mondal added further gloss when he converted from close-range after Taylor’s strike had been parried by the keeper.
