A late hat-trick from Bart Cybulski turned Tuesday evening’s game on it’s head as Spalding United ran out as winners at The Brewery Field.

Richie Bennett opened the scoring with an opportunistic finish on the half hour mark, before 65th, 87th and 89th minute efforts from Cybulski condemned Moors to a fifth defeat of the season.

Moors loanee, Jake Oram got out to claim a low ball into the area, before doing well to rise above challenges and pick a lofted ball into the box out of the air.

Sam Murray went close just shy of 30 minutes when he got on the end of a looping ball to the back post, only to see his powerful header drop wide of the mark.

The Tulips saw a good chance stopped by Oram soon after, as the number 21 got down well to his left to deny Ben Fowkes’ curling strike towards his near post.

Moors went on to take the lead with 31 minutes on the clock following a fortuitous move from Bennett. The strike got on the end of a loose back-pass from a Spalding defender, before rounding the oncoming Crook and firing a low effort into the net despite the best efforts of a Tulip man on the line.

Oram was again on hand to prevent a Spalding chance just short of 10 minutes later. It was Jack Roberts found space to drive into the penalty area, but was met by the Moors shot-stopper just inside his 18-yard box, who made an incredible stop to deny the number 7.

There were warning signs for Jason Ainsley’s side immediately after the break when the visitors found the back of the net through a powerful header from Shane Byrne. However, the flag had already been raised for offside.

Both sides saw chances as the game progressed, first for Moors as Jack Jenkins’ low driven effort was deflected behind for a corner, before Michael Kelly’s corner found Connor Johnson , who thumped a header wide from close range.

Oram continued to impress in his home debut for the club, this time producing an incredible double save to deny Cybulski on the line.

However, Cybulski went on to finally get the beating of Oram with 25 minutes to go. The number 9 found space on the edge of the area to strike, as his curled effort found the back of the net.

Moors looked to fight their way back in front following Spalding’s equaliser, as they forced multiple corners out of the visitors. The closest Moors got however, was a half-cleared ball i that Sam Murray volleyed on goal from distance, which didn’t really trouble Crook.

Both Jack Young and Jack Jenkins saw strikes fail to hit the target, with around 10 minutes to go, as Jenkins’ effort was deflected wide, before Young’s shot from the edge of the area flew over the bar.

Cybulski grabbed his second of the game with just three minutes of normal time remaining. Moors failed to clear Kelly’s free-kick into the area, allowing Abduramane Sani to hook the ball back across goal for Cybulski, who headed home from close range, leaving Oram with no chance.

It went from bad to worse with two minutes to go as Cybulski found both his and Spalding’s third of the evening. The number 9 found space to strike in a central position, before firing a low effort beneath the outstretched arm of Oram to take the game away from Moors.
