Both Moors’ Men and Ladies teams are in the hat for this afternoon’s Emirates FA Cup and Adobe WFA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round draws…

Jason Ainsley’s side booked their place in the 3rd Qualifying Round on Saturday afternoon following a convincing 0-4 victory over NPL Premier Division side, Emley AFC.

Jack Young opened the scoring with a smart finish in the first half, before doubling up through a powerful strike just after the break. Danny Johnson came off the bench to grab his third goal in four games and make it 0-3, with Glen Taylor chipping the ‘keeper soon after to add a fourth for Moors.

It was a similar story for Moors ladies, who also earned themselves a place in the hat for the 3rd Qualifying Round draw after an impressive 1-4 away victory over Ponteland United.

Moors opened the scoring through Amy Richardson with just seven minutes on the clock, only for the hosts to equalise 13 minutes later. Ellie Wise got the lasses back in front just before the break, before second half goals from Sophie Hodgson, as well as a second for Wise, saw Moors secure victory.

The Men’s draw for the Emirates FA Cup will take place this afternoon at around 1pm, whereas the Ladies will find out their Adobe WFA Cup opponents at around 2pm.
