Connor Pani Signs For Moors

Spennymoor Town have completed the signing of Versatile defender, Connor Pani, on a deal that will see him stay with the club until January 2027.

He becomes Peter Hartley’s fourth signing since his appointment as First-Team Manager earlier this month.

Connor started his career at Gateshead, putting pen to paper on his first professional contract in July 2021, signing a two-year deal.

His first season in professional football ended in silverware, as he was part of the Heed side that lifted the National League North title, making 14 appearances across the campaign.

Pani went on to enjoy loan spells at both Blyth Spartans and Morpeth Town in the 2022/23 season, before being re-called to Gateshead to help secure National League safety. He made 10 appearances for the club that campaign, and found the net on one occasion, helping to earn himself a new deal lasting until 2025.

Connor went on to make another loan spell the season after, this time to Workington. He started the 2025/26 season well, making 16 appearances for The Heed and scoring two goals in the process.

However, a ruptured Achilles Tendon early on in the season saw him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

The versatile defender can play both in midfield and defence.

Peter Hartley had this to say about his new man…

“I’m very happy to get Connor over the line.

“His versatility will be essential for us coming into the busy winter schedule. He’s trained with us for a week or so and I’ve been very impressed with his level of performance.

“I’m very much looking forward to him replicating that in our games.”

Pani will wear the Squad Number 25 during his time with the club.
