Spennymoor Town have completed the signing of French defender Nelson Digbeu on a deal until January 2027.

Digbeu becomes Peter Hartley’s eighth signing since his arrival as First Team Manager in September

He began his career in France, signing with US Chauvigny in the 2018/19 season, before moving to England to sign for Bradford Park Avenue, where he gained National League North experience the season after.

Nelson made a move to the North West in July 2021, signing for Prestwich Hays, before featuring for Widnes, Skelmesdale and Prescot Cables across the next few years.

The 6 foot 5 inch centre-back agreed a deal with Cyrmu Premier side, Bala Town in July 2025, where he went on to make over 20 appearances for the Welsh Outfit, finding the scoresheet on one occasion.

The Frenchman has now penned a deal with Moors that will see him stay with the club until January of 2027, having spent the past few weeks training with the club.

Peter Hartley had this to say about his new signing…

“Nelson will be key to what we are trying to do.

“He adds an aggression and combativeness to our training session which we like. Along with being both footed, he’s experienced in this league.”

Nelson will wear the number 40 during his time with the club.
