The Club was delighted to accept a wonderfully generous donation of £200 from Ferryhill Athletic towards our ‘Back The Fans, Fill The Stands’ campaign.
Moors launched the drive in April to help with the subsidising coach travel for supporters to the FA Trophy Final at Wembley on Sunday 11th May.
As a result, we were contacted by officials from Ferryhill, who were keen to make a donation and assist in our efforts to ensure everyone can afford to make the trip to cheer the lads on.
The two clubs are linked by a mutual commercial partner, with Moors’ shirt sponsors TMC also working with Ferryhill during the course of the 2024/25 campaign.
“We were disappointed not to receive support from our own Town Council last week, so it’s pleasing to see the local community still coming together to help us with the subsidised travel,” said Moors’ Managing Director, Ian Geldard.
“It’s absolutely fantastic to have the support of our neighbours in the Wearside League, who clearly understand the importance of community and how significant an event like this can be for a town and its people.
“We’ve managed to raise just over £3,300 in donations towards an overall cost of over £8,000 in subsidising the 442 seats at the cheaper rate.
“We’re hopeful that further businesses and organisations can step forward and help us raise that last bit of money we need to cover the shortfall.
“Everyone at Spennymoor Town wishes Ferryhill Athletic the very best for the summer and for the 2025/26 campaign and we thank them again for their support.”
