Moors Ladies have added to their ranks ahead of the 2025/26 campaign with the news that midfielder Sophie Hodgson has joined the Club.
New boss Stephen Durrant has wasted little time shaping his squad for the new season with a number of key players already committing to Moors for next term.
Now he’s also completed his first signing since being appointed to the role by persuading attacking midfield star Hodgson to join him at The Brewery Field.
A former Durham Cestria and Norton & Stockton Ancients player, Hodgson brings plenty of experience to the Moors squad as they embark on their third season in the NERWFL Premier Division.

“We’re delighted that Sophie is joining Moors,” admitted Durrant.
“She’s a highly capable attacking player and, as a person, she’s a great fit with the culture we have and want to try and keep growing at the Club.
“Sophie is joining us from Tier 4 of the game and is our first signing ahead of the new season and she’ll certainly enhance an already strong squad as we continue to build for the future.”
A forward-thinking midfielder, Hodgson is also noted for her hard work on and off the ball and Durrant will be hoping she can be a key player during 2025/26.
“I felt so welcome at the Club as soon as I met the staff,” Hodgson explained.
“I’ve had a look around at the facilities and seen the incredible pitch but hearing the ambitious plans for next season convinced me this was the Club for me.
“I have also spoken to one of the girls who I know in the squad, and she told me that signing for Moors would be the best decision for me so I’m excited to get started.”
