We turn the focus on Saturday’s FA Cup action with a comprehensive preview of our Second Round Qualifying trip to The Northern Metal Recycling Stadium (3pm kick-off).
West Auckland Town v Spennymoor Town
FA Cup Second Round Qualifying
Saturday 13th September 2025, 3pm
The Northern Metal Recycling Stadium
The Opposition
West Auckland Town currently sit in eighth spot in Northern League Division One but lost some ground in midweek when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Shildon.
However, Gareth Young’s men have games in hand on some of the sides around them and will be hoping to stay in contention as the season develops.
West have already three FA Cup ties to reach this stage of the competition having seen off Garforth Town and Bridlington Town in the preliminary rounds before defeating Wythenshawe in First Round Qualifying.
Previous Meeting
Moors ran out winners when the sides last met in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2021/22 campaign when the game finished 4-0 in our favour.
However, this will be the first time the two clubs have locked horns in the FA Cup.
Referee
Mark Bell will take charge of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at West Auckland Town, and he will be assisted by Macauley Gibson and Ben Duffill. Tyler Dutton is the Fourth Official.
