Hemmingway Appointed As Ladies Manager

The Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Nikita Hemmingway as permanent Ladies First Team Manager.

Following the departure of Stephen Durrant, Hemmingway took interim charge of the Moors Ladies set-up, leading the team to a 7-1 victory over South Shields in the NERWFL Premier Division, and a 2-1 victory over Birtley Town in Moors’ first Women’s FA Cup fixture of the season.

Having been involved with Moors Ladies since 2020, former attacking midfielder Hemmingway became Ladies Secretary after hanging up her boots at the end of the 2022/23 season.

She went on to become a vital part of the Ladies management team that saw promotion to the NERWFL Premier, and that has seen the Moors make huge strides in the Women’s FA Cup in recent years.

“We’ve always been a club that looks to develop those within” said Managing Director, Ian Geldard, on the appointment.

“Nikita has been instrumental in the development of Moors Ladies on and off the pitch in recent seasons. With her vast experience, she will absolutely hit the ground running with a squad that she was heavily involved in recruiting over the summer.

“She already commands the respect of the team and I am looking forward to working with her to take our Ladies Team to the next level.”

Hemmingway added: “It is a huge honour to take up the role of Ladies Manager at Spennymoor Town.”

“Moors Ladies has been a huge part of my life to date, and I am looking forward to helping the girls achieve their full potential in this season and beyond.”

Hemmingway’s appointment comes alongside the confirmation of two additions to her backroom staff.

Ella Beecham becomes Ladies First Team coach, whilst Jak Hardy, who completed a final-year Sports Therapy placement within Graeme Lee’s Men’s management team last season now takes up the role of Ladies Sports Therapist.
