Moors Ladies are back on home soil on Sunday when they host Alnwick Town in NERWFL Premier Division at The Brewery Field (2pm kick-off).
Nikita Hemmingway’s side will refocus on the league after last weekend’s Women’s FA Cup exit at the hands of National League outfit Huddersfield Town.
Moors have made an encouraging start to the new campaign and have tasted defeat just once so far when league leaders Thornaby ran out winners at The Brewery Field.
However, visitors Alnwick sit a point and two places above Moors in fifth in the formative Premier Division table and will offer stiff opposition this Sunday.
“We’re happy with the start we’ve made overall, but we really want to get back to winning ways this weekend,” insisted Hemmingway.
“It’s not often we are beaten at The Brewery Field so that loss against Thornaby hurt us all and I know the players are determined to react to that positively.
“I’ve seen enough from this squad to know that we can compete with anyone at this level and Alnwick are one of the better sides, so we’ll have to be at our best.
“It’s an exciting game to be preparing for on home soil and we’re absolutely focused on putting in a strong performance and getting the three points.”
Tickets are priced at just £3 for adults and it’s completely free for all those under 12 – we accept cash and card payments on the turnstiles.
