The spoils were shared at The Brewery Field as a late Scarborough equaliser condemned Moors to a frustrating draw in their final outing of 2025.
Mackenzie Heaney opened the scoring within two minutes when he curled an effort into the top corner, before Lewis Maloney dragged the visitors level late on with an audacious effort.
Moors got the start they were looking for, as a long ball from Dan Jones found Mackenzie Heaney on the right-hand side. The number 7 drove into the area, before curling a wonderful effort into the top left corner of Ryan Whitley’s net.
Glen Taylor almost grabbed a second for Moors just three minutes later, when he connected with a ball into the area from Olly Dyson. His header, however, was saved by Whitley.
A set piece gave Taylor another chance on the 12th minute, only for his effort to soar agonisingly over the bar.
Scarborough’s first half chance of the evening came through Stephen Walker, who snatched at a loose ball and fired an effort high over the bar.
Moors came forward again just shy of the hour mark, this time via Rob Ramshaw. The midfield man laid the ball off to Dyson on the edge of the 18-yard box, who fired a low effort just wide of the mark.
Graeme Lee’s men ended the half the stronger of the two sides, as Heaney managed to float an enticing ball in behind and into the path of Ramshaw, who just couldn’t connect with the pass and the chance went begging.
The Seadogs came out for the second 45 with fight, as Harry Green managed to wriggle his way along the edge of the penalty area and fire goalwards, though the effort flew well wide.
Jones was up from the back to produce a good ball into the path of Taylor on the 54th minute, but the frontman smashed his first time strike inches wide of the upright.
Two chances in quick succession from Heaney posed problems for the visitors, as his first effort flew just over the crossbar, before seeing a strike from close range stopped by Whitley.
Substitute, Corey McKeown, looked to make his mark when his touch brought down Jones’ floated ball in behind, but couldn’t get his effort on target.
Moors went close again on the 67th minute, this time through Taylor, who struck a first- time effort low on goal, which looked destined for the bottom right corner, only for Scarborough’s shot stopper to get down to his left and save.
Lewis Maloney tried his luck from range with nine minutes to go but smashed his strike over the bar. The substitute made no mistake the next time he took aim however, as he, rather luckily, got his side level late on.
The midfielder looked to whip a ball into the crowded penalty area from about 40-yards out, only to find the ball go all the way through and into the bottom right corner of the net, sending the travelling Boro supporters into bedlam.
Moors pushed to get back in front in stoppage time, as both Matty Dolan and Junior Mondal both saw efforts avoid the back of the net, with the first saved by Whitley, and the second put over the bar.
Rio Allan had a chance to win it for the visitors with one of the last kicks of the game, but saw his low strike comfortably stopped by Brad James.
