Graeme Lee has moved to strengthen his attacking options with the signing of young forward Jake Waters on a one-month loan deal from Sunderland.
The South Shields born star has come through the ranks at the Stadium of Light and showed his promise when he became a prolific scorer for the club’s Under-16s and Under-18s.
Blessed with plenty of power and strength, Waters is described as an old-fashioned centre-forward and has graduated to become a part of The Black Cat’s Under-21s side.
The 19-year-old saw his progress interrupted by injury in the latter part of 2024 but he’s now back to full fitness and will be keen to impress during his time with Moors.
“We’ve had our eye on Jake for a while and we’re delighted to have been able to bring him to the Club,” explained boss Graeme Lee.
“He’s a big, powerful player who has shown that he has a keen eye for goal, so we’re really looking forward to working with him over the next month.
“If things go well, then hopefully we can keep him with us for a little longer but we’re thankful to Sunderland for allowing him to join us.”
Waters has been handed squad number 14 and will be eligible to make his debut at Leamington on Saturday, subject to clearance from the National League, The FA and the Premier League.
