Ladies Switch Focus To Wallsend Trip

Moors Ladies will be looking to build some momentum when they make the trip to face Wallsend Town Boys Club Women at Kirkley Park on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

Nikita Hemmingway’s side battled to a 2-1 win over Ossett United during their return to action last weekend following a series of postponements due to bad weather.

The three points kept them in third place in the NERWFL Premier Division and another victory on Sunday could help them cut the five-point gap to Thornaby.

This weekend’s trip to North Tyneside will be the first of two encounters with Wallsend during March and Hemmingway is hoping Moors can get the upper hand.

“We played well against Ossett last week, but we certainly could have scored more goals and made life easier for ourselves,” she told us.

“The girls know they can be more ruthless in the final third and that’s one thing we’ll work on in training and look to bring out of them in matches.

“Wallsend are sitting near the bottom of the table, but we have to show them respect and make sure that we are at our best if we want to come home with a win.

“It’s been frustrating to deal with postponements so far in 2026 so hopefully now we can get a good run of games and really get on a roll until the end of the season.”

Fans are welcome to cheer Moors on against Wallsend on Sunday with the game at Kirkley Park set to kick-off at 2pm.
