Ladies Turn Attentions To Alnwick Test

Moors Ladies face a big game on Sunday when they make the trip to face fellow high-flyers Alnwick Town in the NERWFL Premier Division (2pm kick-off).

The fixture has been brought forward to this weekend and will see Nikita Hemmingway’s third-placed outfit travel to take on a side who lie one spot and two points behind them in the table.

Moors enjoyed a memorable afternoon when they hosted Alnwick at The Brewery Field in October, running out 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Holly Doogan, Jenny Priestley, Sophie White-Mellish and Sophie Hodgson.

However, Hemmingway knows that Sunday’s game will represent a completely different challenge and one her players will need to be ready for.

“Alnwick haven’t lost many games this season so they will definitely feel like they owe us one,” she told us.

“We had a great result at Sunderland last weekend, so we really want to try and build on that and build some momentum for the season run-in.

“Sunday will be a big test and will tell us a lot about how far we’ve come but I am confident the players will go there and embrace that challenge.”

Kick-off at Greensfield is 2pm on Sunday and fans are welcome to go along and enjoy the action.
