Moors Ladies will take centre-stage at The Brewery Field on Sunday afternoon when they play host to Wallsend Boys Club in NERWFL Premier (3.30pm kick-off).
Nikita Hemmingway’s side will be keen to hit back following last weekend’s disappointing defeat at Alnwick Town and will hope to make the most of their home advantage.
It’s the first time the Ladies Team will have played a fixture at The Brewery Field since their 5-1 win over Berwick Rangers in the cup back in November.
And Hemmingway is excited at the prospect of her players using that to gain the edge as they look to complete a league double over Sunday’s visitors following a 2-0 success in Tyneside at the beginning of the month.
“We played well when we went to Wallsend the other week and we’ll have to do so again on Sunday,” she told us.
“Our record at The Brewery Field over the past few seasons has been excellent – we’ve not lost many games, and we need to make sure we continue that this weekend.
“Having that little extra home support and playing in the main stadium is a real boost for the players so hopefully we can use that to our advantage.”
Admission is just £3 for adults and free for all those under 12 so please come along if you can and cheer the lasses on this Sunday.
Please note, the game is kicking-off at the slightly later time of 3.30pm to allow everyone to enjoy the Tyne-Wear derby earlier in the day.
