New To The Division: Hebburn Town

We’re continuing our study of the new teams joining us in National League North for the 2026/27 campaign – and today we’re making the short trip to South Tyneside.

How did they get here?
The Hornets secured promotion to National League North for the first time in their history by winning the Northern Premier League Premier Division title last term.

It’s the latest chapter in a remarkable journey which has seen the South Tyneside outfit make progress from the Northern League to join Moors in the sixth tier.

Their rise has been built on solid foundations and consistent progress – on and off the pitch – with their league success complemented by an FA Vase triumph in 2021 when they defeated Consett in the delayed 2019/20 Final.

Where do they play?
Hebburn Town play their home games at The Trustmark Group Stadium, more commonly known as The Hebburn Sports and Social Ground.

The club has drawn up exciting plans to redevelop their home ground with their ambitious Community Hub Project originally set to begin during this summer.

However, it was announced in May that work had been postponed for the time being due to unforeseen delays though the work does remain part of The Hornets’ long-term strategy.

Who is in charge?
Bobby Moore has overseen Hebburn’s rise in recent years having originally been appointed to the hotseat in April 2022 following the departure of Kevin Bolam.

A former Moors player, Moore was Club Captain during our memorable run to the FA Vase Final in 2013 and, despite breaking his ankle and missing the game, he helped to lift the trophy at Wembley following the victory over Tunbridge Wells.

When did we last meet?
This will be the first time the two clubs have locked horns in competitive action, though we did play each other in a pre-season friendly last summer in which Hebburn ran out 4-1 winners.
