Matty Dolan has admitted he’s counting down the days to the start of pre-season training as Moors look to hit the ground running ahead of 2026/27.

The experienced midfielder has signed a new contract to remain at The Brewery Field as a player into next term but will also step up to take on a First Team Coach role.

Dolan is excited to get his teeth into the task under new boss Tommy Miller when the squad reconvenes for training next Saturday.

“I can’t wait to get everyone back together,” he told us.

“We did well towards the end of last year, so we’ve been working hard over the summer to get plans in place and now we’re looking forward to another exciting season hopefully.

“I am really looking forward to the new challenge in front of me now. Anybody who knows me will know who passionate I am about the coaching side of the game, so this is a great opportunity for me.

“I still want to keep on playing because I feel I have plenty still to give, but I will be stepping into both roles and giving 100%.”
