The Club is delighted to confirm that our upcoming friendly against Gateshead at The Brewery Field has been awarded as a testimonial match for Rob Ramshaw.
Having joined the Club in the summer of 2016 from Gateshead, our pre-season encounter with The Heed Army represents the perfect opportunity to honour the midfielder.
Ramshaw has confirmed that all proceeds from the testimonial match on Saturday 1st August (3pm kick-off) and a Golf Day to be held at Beamish Park Golf Club on Sunday 6th September will be donated to two charities which are close to his heart.
“I thought this was the perfect opportunity to give something back to two amazing charities,” he explained.
“St Cuthbert’s Hospice cared for my Grandma Margaret, and Willow Burn Hospice cared for my Granda Fred. My family will always be grateful for the kindness, compassion, and support they showed us during such difficult times.
“Both charities do incredible work every single day, and without donations they simply wouldn’t be able to continue providing the care that so many families rely on.
“The football match and the golf day aren’t about me; they’re about raising as much money as possible for two truly amazing causes.
“If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for your support.”
During his decade at The Brewery Field, Ramshaw has amassed almost 450 appearances in all competitions and weighed in with 56 goals.
Among his many highlights in a Moors shirt was the stunning goal against Stourbridge in 2016/17 Play-Off Final which won the Club promotion to National League North.
Last term, Ramshaw won the Club’s Goal of the Season award for his incredible volley against Macclesfield in the final away game of the campaign.
Tickets for the testimonial match are available to buy online right now, and we would encourage all fans to buy in advance where possible to help us reduce matchday queueing.
Fans who are unable to attend the game but would still like to make a donation to show their support can also do so by purchasing an online ticket if they so wish.
