Preview: Moors v Hartlepool United

We looked ahead to Saturday’s action as Moors welcome Hartlepool United to The Brewery Field for their first home friendly of pre-season (3pm kick-off).

Tommy Miller’s men will be aiming to make it a hat-trick of wins in the warm-up campaign when they play host to Hartlepool United this weekend.

However, after victories over Blyth Spartans and Seaton Carew, Lee Clark’s National League visitors promise to offer Moors their stiffest test so far.

Pools have been ambitious in the transfer market this summer and Clark will hope that his reinforcements are enough to help them climb back into the EFL following their relegation in 2023.

One of their summer arrivals will be familiar to Moors fans too. Corey McKeown swapped black and white for blue and white last month and is now set to line-up in the opposition this weekend.

Former Moors centre-back Gary Liddle will also be among Pools’ travelling party after being kept on as First Team Coach following Clark’s appointment.

For Moors, it represents their first outing on home soil and is one of four fixtures they’ll play at The Brewery Field before the big kick-off in National League North at Morecambe on Saturday 8th August.

Tickets are available online in advance or by cash or card on the turnstiles prior to kick-off on Saturday. There is no segregation in place.
