Spennymoor Town FC has set the deadline of 3PM on Friday 23 October for season ticket holders to apply for refunds.
The club’s season commencement statement, released last week, established the options available to season ticket holders now that it is clear supporters will not be inside football stadiums any time soon.
These options included converting the value held in their ticket to a season pass for the club’s new streaming service; deferring that ticket until next season on a guaranteed value basis; and applying for a refund from the club.
Following verification of each individual application, the club will endeavour to complete refunds by Friday 30th October.
Tony Wilson, Managing Director, said: “We would like to thank everyone who has taken up the option of our streaming pass or deferred their season ticket until next season. Having access to this cash is very helpful for the club in the present predicament football finds itself.
“We would also like to thank those who have applied for refunds for their patience. We feel it imperative to make the window for applications as wide as possible to ensure everyone has the opportunity to get their money back. 23 October is the right balance between giving people long enough to apply and delivering the refunds themselves to those who have requested their money.
“We may look to open streaming pass applications again next week if people would still like to convert their season ticket to a streaming pass, depending on demand. The stream itself had a hugely successful launch on Tuesday night and we have had unanimously positive feedback, so people may want to take advantage of this for home games.
“Anyone wanting a refund will receive one with the full backing of the club. But the application must be completed by the deadline on the 23 October. We can not offer any extensions.”
