The club can confirm that Jordan Boon has been released with immediate effect.

The 20-year-old signed for the club in the summer following a successful trial period, netting twice in pre-season fixtures.

Boon started the opening game of the campaign in a 3-1 win over Bradford (Park Avenue) in the FA Cup, but has found game time hard to come by since, featuring just once from the substitutes bench.

Interim Manager Tommy said: “Jordan is a young defender who needs to be somewhere that offers him regular game time week in week out.

“Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that to him at Spennymoor Town, therefore the decision was made to let him go.

“We wish Jordan all the best for the future.”
