Attention swiftly returns to National League North action for Spennymoor on Saturday with a trip to Latimer Park to face Kettering Town.
Glen Taylor’s first half penalty deservedly sent Moors through to the Third Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening, with league leaders AFC Fylde dumped out in the process.
That win means Tommy Miller’s side has won five of eight games in all competitions this season, and Moors could end the weekend as high as third if results go their way.
Kettering has began the campaign well, losing just once in their eight games in all competitions, with The Poppies currently 7th in the division after a 2-0 victory at Guiseley a fortnight ago.
The contest pits the highest scorers in the National League North – Moors with 15 – against the joint-most solid defence – Kettering with five, in what is just a second ever meeting at Latimer Park.
Moors comfortably won the first encounter back in October 2019 courtesy of two Taylor efforts, with The Poppies playing a large portion of the game with ten men following Jay Williams’ red card.
