SPENNYMOOR TOWN
One point separates Spennymoor and Chester ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with both teams aiming to put resepctive losses at the weekend behind them.
An Adam Campbell strike early in the second half sunk a Moors side who were made to rue a glut of guild-edge chances, while Chester let a lead slip late on in a 3-2 home defeat against Hereford.
Those results mean Spennymoor go into the clash in 15th position, however, with three games in hand against Chorley, Kidderminster Harriers and Bradford (Park Avenue), 54 points are still up for grabs from now until early May.
Chester are a place below in 16th under the stewardship of Steve Watson. The former York City boss took over from current Moors managerial duo Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley in December.
The Blues have recorded two wins in ten games since Watson took charge, scoring 18 times and conceding 19, while Moors’ seven league games under Johnson and Morley have brought a sole win over Guiseley in January.
