The Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of highly rated striker Paul Blackett from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.
Jason Ainsley has been tracking the prolific 24-year-old for some time and has now held off competition from other clubs to broker a deal to bring the talented forward to The Brewery Field.
Having spent time on the books of both Newcastle United and Sheffield United as a youngster, Blackett joined The Heed in the summer of 2019 following a successful trial.
Since then, Blackett has gone on to forge a reputation as one of the most potent strikers at non-league level, firing 10 goals during Gateshead’s brilliant title-winning 2021/22 season, including a winner against Moors at The Brewery Field.
Injury sidelined him for the second half of the last campaign but his incredible strike rate of 99 minutes per goal was the best of any striker to score double figures in National League North.
Moors boss Ainsley has been keen to add extra firepower to his squad as they look to climb the table and Blackett’s record at this level meant he was at the very top of the target list.
Blackett will wear squad number 30 and will now go straight into contention for a Moors debut in this evening’s game against Chester.
