Jason Ainsley has completed a New Year move into the transfer market with the signing of goalkeeper Dan Langley on loan from Newcastle United.
The 6ft 7ins shot stopper spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Gateshead, making 12 appearances in the National League for The Tynesiders.
Having joined Newcastle’s Academy at the age of 16, Langley has gone on to excel in the club’s Under-18s and Under-23, earning his first professional contract in 2019.
The towering youngster is highly rated at St James’ Park and was handed some First Team experience when he played for the senior side in a pre-season friendly at York City in July 2021.
“Dan has a real physical presence about him and, from speaking to him, I can tell that he is a very determined young lad,” explained Moors boss Ainsley.
“He played for Gateshead against us in pre-season and was excellent, so we got to see him first hand and we know what he’s all about.
“He has already been out on loan in the National League so has experience of this level which was important for us when we knew that Gio (Bellagambi) wasn’t staying.
“We wish him well during his time with us and look forward to working with him in the coming months.”
Langley takes up squad number 1 at The Brewery Field and will be in line to make his Moors debut in Saturday’s National League North game at AFC Telford United.
