After a tricky spell of form during December and into January, Boston United have rallied in recent weeks as they look to move clear of trouble at the bottom of the National League North table.
The Pilgrims have tasted defeat just once in their last six games and are returning to home soil this evening having collected a creditable four points from back-to-back away games at Chorley and Kidderminster Harriers.
Ian Culverhouse’s side now find themselves in 19th position but they remain just one point above the bottom four so they will know they need to maintain the momentum as they look to secure their place in the division.
One To Watch
Front man Jake Wright will be hoping he can find his top form during the run-in to help fire Boston United away from trouble.
After suffering the blow of losing Scott Pollock to Yeovil Town on Monday, there may well be more emphasis on Wright who has nine National League North goals to his name so far this season.
The 36-year-old former York City forward joined The Pilgrims in January 2021 after overcoming a long-term injury, having previously played for the club on loan in 2019.
Head To Head
Moors ran out winners by the odd goal in five when the sides met at The Brewery Field at the beginning of December and that continued their good record against Boston United.
Indeed, The Pilgrims are still searching for their first win over Moors having lost six and drawn two of the previous eight encounters between the clubs.
Moors won 2-1 on their last visit to The Jakemans Community Stadium, thanks to second half goals from Glen Taylor and Scott McLean.
On The Whistle
William Davies will be the man in the middle for this evening’s game at Boston United, and he will be assisted by Matthew Jackson and Callum Parke.
