Glen Taylor was a guest at Stockport’s County’s final day game against Hartlepool United as Hatters fans honoured the Moors front man – despite the fact he’s never even played for them!
Taylor was given a massive ovation from home supporters when he was announced on to the pitch at half time during the 1-1 draw with Pools at Edgeley Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
Back in 2019, the striker nodded home a 94th-minute last day goal against Chorley which saw a dramatic twist in events that put Stockport back on top of National League North and helped clinch their promotion.
Since then, County fans have taken to celebrating Glen Taylor Day on that date each year and they were delighted to see him finally make the trip to Edgeley Park on Monday.
His famous goal against Chorley was shown on the big screen as Taylor was given a rapturous welcome from fans during the interval.
Good luck to Stockport in the play-offs!
