Things are starting to take shape at The Brewery Field ahead of the new campaign with the playing surface looking in fine condition under the summer sun.
Head Groundsman Mark Sleightholme has overseen a makeover of the pitch since the end of last season and the fruits of that labour are already visible to see.
This week has seen the process of vertidraining begin, which helps with aeration and the roots for the grass.
“Everything is going according to plan, and we’re pleased with the progress so far,” Sleightholme explained.
“Obviously the hot temperatures are good for the growth, though I wouldn’t mind if we got a little more rain in the coming weeks too – though I know I will be in a minority there!”
