Moors in the Community’s Easter Holiday Camp proved a resounding success once again as over 50 local youngsters enjoyed sessions over the two weeks.

The children got to sample a variety of sporting activities throughout the fortnight at Spennymoor Youth & Community Centre, including football, handball and the ever popular dodgeball!

As well as that, Dawn Belshaw was there to take the lead on the arts and crafts challenges to keep the kids entertained when they took a break from the sport.

Men’s Assistant Manager Ian Clark, plus players Glen Taylor, Rob Ramshaw, James Curtis, Ben Pollock and Brad James all popped along to get involved, while Autumn Colledge, Hannah Knox, Megan Foster, Lily Jackson and Beth Enguita were there from Moors Ladies.

“We were all looking forward to the Easter Holiday Camp and it was amazing from start to finish,” said Moors’ Sports Development Officer, Matthew Arnell.

“You could see how much fun everyone was having from the first day and the smiles were even wider when the players from our Men’s and Ladies Teams joined in.

“To have them there and taking part in our big tournaments on each of the Fridays was brilliant and it was fantastic to see many of them there to support the Club’s community efforts.

“I am also really thankful to Dawn for doing such a magnificent job on the arts and crafts side of things; we were all really grateful for the time and effort she put in.

“I would also like to thank our hosts, Spennymoor Youth & Community Centre, as well as our partners Esh Construction, County Durham Community Foundation and McDonalds.”
