Moors have held off strong competition to complete a deal to see Brad James return to The Brewery Field for the 2024/25 National League North campaign.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper initially joined the Club in February and was among the standout performers as Moors embarked on an astonishing sequence of form during the run-in.
James made 15 appearances, kept six clean sheets and tasted defeat just twice as Graeme Lee’s men drove clear of the bottom four and came close to snatching a place in the play-offs.
The Middlesbrough Academy product also stole the headlines with a stunning display at Boston United at the beginning of March when he saved two penalties as Moors clinched a brilliant away win.
Moors boss Lee has remained patient in his bid to re-sign the talented shot-stopper and that approach has now paid off with James agreeing a deal to return for 2024/25.
“It’s fantastic news for us that Brad has signed a new contract,” Lee admitted.
“I think everyone knows what a great job he did for us last season and it’s brilliant that we have been able to get the deal done to bring him back for 2024/25.
“Brad is an outstanding goalkeeper who will only get better for playing regular football and I am so excited to be working with him in the new season to help him develop even further.
“We’ve had to bide our time a little bit because clearly there was big interest in Brad during the summer but I am delighted that he’s staying and I think it’s a statement of intent from the Club.”
James has been handed squad number 1 and will go now go into contention to be involved in Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly against Shildon at Dean Street.
