Preview: Rushall Olympic v Moors

We turn our attentions to Saturday’s action with an in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North trip to Dales Lane.

Rushall Olympic v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 24th August 2024, 3pm
Dales Lane

The Opposition
Rushall Olympic have endured a challenging start to the new campaign and sit second bottom in the table having lost all three of their games so far.

Adam Stevens’ side surrendered an early lead in a 3-2 defeat to Farsley Celtic on the opening day before being swept aside 3-0 at Scarborough Athletic last weekend.

Their tough opening period continued during the long trip to King’s Lynn on Tuesday evening when they were beaten 2-1 so they will be determined to hit back on Saturday.

The Pics held their own during their first season up in National League North last term, eventually finishing four points above the bottom four and they will be keen to build on that during 2024/25.

Previous Meeting
Both games between the sides last season went with home advantage in what was the first occasion the clubs have shared a division since 2016/17.

There was a disappointing 4-3 defeat at Dales Lane in one of Graeme Lee’s early games as boss in January, though Moors did enjoy a convincing 3-0 win over The Pics at The Brewery Field back in October thanks to goals from Glen Taylor (2) and Will Harris.

Match Officials
Darren Rogers will be on the whistle for Saturday’s encounter at Dales Lane, and he will be assisted by Brandon Scaife and Daniel McDonald. David Hinton is the Fourth Official.
