We turn the focus on our midweek action with a full and in-depth preview of our National League North trip to Neuven Stadium.
Radcliffe v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 3rd September 2024, 7.45pm
Neuven Stadium
The Opposition
Radcliffe secured promotion to National League North for the first time in the club’s 75-year history when they won the Northern Premier League title last term.
A 2-1 win at Whitby Town was the one which clinched their place in the sixth tier as they went on to win the league by some 10 points in the end.
It was another promotion added to the CVs of joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley who, of course, spent time in charge of Moors in 2022.
Radcliffe have had a tricky start to life at a higher level. They are still awaiting their first win and Saturday’s home defeat to King’s Lynn Town has left them 22nd in the table.
Previous Meeting
Jamie Chandler scored the only goal of the game just 13 minutes from time when Moors last made the trip to Radcliffe back in December 2021.
The midfielder’s late strike ensured progress in the FA Trophy on that afternoon and Tuesday’s game will be the first time the sides have collided in the league.
Match Officials
Tuesday evening’s man in the middle at Radcliffe will be Kavan Hurn, and he will be assisted by Taylor Metcalf and Jack Churchill. Mark Reeves will be the Fourth Official.
