Isaac Fletcher smashed home his eighth goal of the season as Moors snatched a last gasp point against Warrington Town at Cantilever Park.
Graeme Lee’s side had been the dominant force during a fairly drab encounter but fell behind to Connor Woods’ brilliant free kick 20 minutes from time.
However, Fletcher once again proved the difference maker as he jinked inside from the left to rifle home a leveller with less than 90 seconds remaining.
Lee was able to recall Brad James to the starting eleven following hamstring trouble, while Ben Beals was also included in place of the injured Dan Rowe.
Moors began with good tempo and shovelled a ball into the box from the right within the first 30 seconds, but Fletcher couldn’t quite stretch enough at the far post to make a meaningful contact.
The hosts, who announced Paul Carden as successor to former boss Mark Beesley after the game, responded with a chance of their own but Joe Rodwell-Grant fired wide.
The biggest chance of the first half fell to Glen Taylor on the quarter-hour. Reece Staunton linked up well with Fletcher down the left and the latter wriggled into the box to tee up Taylor only for the front man to send his shot too high.
Matty McDonald then tested James with a powerful drive from 30 yards after a wonderful first touch set up the opening, before Jay Harris whipped a cross shot just too high to trouble the Moors keeper.
Beals atoned for a slack pass which allowed Warrington to drive forward down the left by getting back into the penalty area to produce a superb block to deny Gerald Sithole.
Moors began the second half well and could have been in front within three minutes when Taylor drove into space on the left before unleashing a powerful low shot which home keeper Dan Atherton did well to keep out.
The game swung in Warrington’s favour on 70 minutes. A free kick was awarded 25 yards from goal and the dangerous Wood whipped it round the wall and past the despairing dive of James to break the deadlock.
Lee responded by throwing on Will Harris and Junior Mondal to try and find a way back into the game. Their pressure finally paid on 89 minutes when Staunton’s ball in from the left fell at the feet of Fletcher, who dropped a shoulder to find space on the edge of the box before lashing a shot beyond Atherton for 1-1.
