Moors Youngsters In FA Youth Cup Action

Moors Under-18s return to FA Youth Cup action on Wednesday night when they make the trip to face Chester-le-Street United at The Riverside (7.30pm kick-off).

The youngsters will approach the tie with real confidence having seen off Morpeth Town in the last round, coming from behind to run out 2-1 winners at Craik Park.

Now they have their sights fixed on the tussle with Chester-le-Street and the opportunity for some revenge against the side who knocked them out of last year’s competition.

“We’re coming off a great result in the last round, where the lads showed tremendous character to come from behind and beat a strong Morpeth side,” explained coach, Stewart Beattie.

“It was a big moment for us as a team and really underlined the resilience and quality in the squad.

“We know Chester-le-Street United are a very strong team, so this is another big test, but one that the players are relishing.

“The group has been in fantastic form so far this season. They’re constantly developing and adapting to the different challenges that come their way, and this will be the next big challenge for them.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the team adapts to a side like Chester-le-Street, who will present different tests than what we typically face in the league.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for the lads to show how far they’ve come and continue their development in such a prestigious competition as the FA Youth Cup.”

Kick-off at The Riverside in Chester-le-Street is 7.30pm and fans can pay by cash and card on the turnstiles if they’re heading along to cheer the youngsters on in the tie.
